| Abstract(esp): | La población adulta mayor es un grupo humano caracterizado, entre otras cosas, por poseer riesgo mayor para múltiples enfermedades y disfunciones orgánicas; esto ocurre cuando el proceso de envejecimiento lleva consigo desventaja acumulada de condiciones que propician dichas enfermedades y síndromes geriátricos (2). En este sentido, uno de los síndromes geriátricos más prevalentes en este grupo de personas son las caídas, descritas como un suceso involuntario que produce el efecto de llegar a permanecer en el suelo a causa de la pérdida del equilibrio. | Abstract(eng): | The elderly population is a human group characterized, among other things, by having a higher risk for multiple diseases and organic dysfunctions; This occurs when the aging process brings with it an accumulated disadvantage of conditions that favor said diseases and geriatric syndromes (2).
