| Abstract(esp): | La Organización Internacional del Trabajo (1) calcula que a diario fallecen 1000 personas por accidentes laborales y otras 6500 mueren por enfermedades profesionales. El número de personas fallecidas por causas atribuibles al trabajo creció de 2,33 millones en 2014 a 2,78 millones en 2017. Por tal motivo, expertos en seguridad y salud en el trabajo como Manal Azzi (1) afirman que “así como observamos una mayor prevención para los riesgos reconocidos, también constatamos profundos cambios en nuestros lugares de trabajo y en la manera en que trabajamos. Necesitamos estructuras de seguridad y salud que reflejen estos cambios, junto a una cultura general de prevención que fomente una responsabilidad compartida |
| Abstract(eng): | The International Labor Organization (1) estimates that 1,000 people die from work-related accidents every day and another 6,500 die from occupational diseases. The number of people who died due to causes attributable to work grew from 2.33 million in 2014 to 2.78 million in 2017. For this reason, experts in occupational safety and health such as Manal Azzi (1) affirm that “as we observe greater prevention also for recognized risks, we see profound changes in our workplaces and in the way we work. We need health and safety structures that reflect these changes, together with a general culture of prevention that fosters shared responsibility. |
